UV Resistant Floor at Imperial War Museum | 13 Oct 2003 |
A Ryebrook resin floor is ideal for museums where foot traffic is high and exhibits being moved into place means considerable loading occurs. Delivering a hard-wearing, easy-to-clean surface that is capable of withstanding heavy load impact, Ryebrooks resin floors come in a choice of 20 different colourways, which combined with a terrazzo finish, added quartz or a UV coating, allow a totally unique look to be created.
Anticipating high visitor numbers to the new Crimes Against Humanity gallery at the Imperial War Museum, Ryebrook was contracted to install a floor finish that would stand the test of time. Ryeflor MD, a self-smoothing polyurethane screed, was laid to a thickness of 4mm in mid-grey around the edges with the area in front of the 5750mm x 3235mm cinema screen being white. The whole gallery floor was then sealed with a UV resistant coating to enhance colour retention.
