Manufacturing precision cutting technology, Tyrolit has just opened their first UK facility in Crawley. The purpose built unit represents a £l m investment by this world leader in abrasives technology and Ryebrook Resins Ltd, based on the same industrial estate, was invited to install a high specification floor finish. As a nationwide operator, Ryebrook was able to recommend Ryetech, a solvent-free, high build, epoxy coating that offers a good level of wear and loading resistance, whilst also being easy to clean and maintain. 'In producing diamond roller dressers it is imperative that the environment is kept as dust-free as possible,' comments Kevin Holcombe, Facilities Controller. "The Ryetech coating fulfils our requirements being quick and simple to maintain using conventional cleaning methods.'
Ryebrook has over 30 years experience in the development and installation of resin floor technology and is constantly pushing forwards the specification criteria for their floor screeds and coatings with an aggressive R&D programme. Ryetech coating is a two pack epoxy coating that is generally laid to 0.5mm thickness and offers medium load and abrasion resistance and good resistance to chemical spillages and bacteria, whilst also having anti-slip properties.
At the Tyrolit facility, Ryebrook's experienced installation team prepared the 600M
2 power-floated concrete base by diamond grinding the edges and shot blasting the main body of the slab to provide a clean, keyed surface. Two coats of Ryetech were then laid over a period of two days to meet with the client's time restrictions.
