ASDA ENJOYS THE BENEFITS OF RECENTLY MERGED HORMANN | 5 Nov 2004 |
The recent merger of Hormann UK with its sister companies Dyna Seal UK and Seuster Doors Limited has resulted in an unrivalled portfolio of industrial and loading bay doors on offer from one manufacturer.
All of Hormanns products are built in-house, and they offer a vast and comprehensive selection from on single source, delivering consistent Hormann quality across the whole range. Products available include; sectional overhead doors, roller shutter doors, folding doors, fast action doors, personnel access doors and fire doors, and the loading equipment includes; dock levellers, dock shelters and loading bay equipment such as traffic lights, dock bumpers, vehicle restraints and wheel guides.
One customer which recently took advantage of this new single source is ASDA.
A total of over twenty one doors, including fifteen loading bays, have been manufactured and installed by Hormann at the recently completed facility in Wakefield which was built specifically for tray washes as well as the recycling of plastic and cardboard and repairing and/or replacing, damaged roll cages.
Critically, the intricate state of the art control panel, provided by Hormann was built and designed to be compatible with the ASDA control sequence, complete with a battery backup in case of power failure and Hormann were also able to provide important accessories including traffic lights, door protection bollards and loading lights.
The contractors for the project were Simons Construction and the doors and loading bays were installed by Hormanns team of specialist engineers.
Alan Jenkins of Hormann Industrial Doors commented; Hormann doors are recognised for their quality, strength and stability and are a popular choice with end users, specifiers and contractors alike. This represents one of a number of installations we have completed for ASDA which we believe underlines their confidence in the Hormann products reliability and functionality.
All products are manufactured under strict quality controls that ensure the highest standards. As virtually all of the Hormann products are manufactured within the group, traceability of products and parts will provide its customers with a better and more efficient after sales service.
Hormann also offers the benefit of its ongoing R&D in new products and keeping ahead of legislation. For example, all of Hormanns doors are CE marked in compliance with the Machinery directive; they also comply with incoming changes to the CE marking legislation now. As from May 2005, CE marking will need to satisfy two recently issued European Standards, BSEN 12604 and BSEN 12453. These standards cover the mandatory requirements for safety for both mechanical and power operated doors.
As Hörmanns Loading Bay doors fully comply with both new sets of standards now, they provide the perfect solution to most industrial door and loading bay situations.
