Loft Hatch that's Twice as Good | 29 Jun 2005 |
Cavity Trays of Yeovil has launched two new loft access hatches, for use in domestic, educational and commercial buildings. Each is accompanied with a fire integrity rating and extends the range of fire-rated products now available from the Yeovil manufacturer:
The Cavi 60 Type PC Lofthatch is prefixed with Cavi 60 to identify it achieved 60 minutes fire integrity when tested to the principles of BS 476: Pt 2:1987.
The Cavi 120 Type PC Lofthatch is prefixed with Cavi 120 to identify it achieved 120 minutes fire integrity when tested to the principles of BS 476: Pt 2:1987.
Both models are manufactured in steel and are supplied ready finished in white for immediate fixing. The downward opening door is supported on a full width hinge that retains the door across one end. At the opposite end is an integral locking latch to secure the door when closed. Integral resi-strips are compressed when the door is in the closed position. These promote a good seal.
The dished steel door envelopes fire barrier layers to provide the requisite one hour or two hour rating required. An additional thermal insulating layer with an adiabatic classification of .35 is available for use with both models.
