IAC UK attends China's leading Conference on Noise & Vibration Control Engineering |
Representatives from IAC, world leading noise control company headquartered in Winchester UK, flew to Shenzhen, China in late November to attend this years Academic Conference on Noise & Vibration Control Engineering.
The conference, themed "Lower noise pollution more green life", was the best attended in the Conferences 10-year history. Over 200 delegates attended from academic and government institutions in all parts of China.
IAC China sponsored the event and Mr Fang, Director, was one of the principal organisers. Established in 1993, the company employs of 200 people and has become one of Chinas most prominent noise control engineering firms.
The papers presented by IAC China were entitled: Design of Noise Control for a Metro Ventilation System; Noise Calculations in Enclosed Spaces; Draw Away Testing in Anechoic Chambers; Noise Reduction of a Natural Draught Cooling Tower; and Construction of a RF-Shielded, Acoustic Security Room.
The main conference proceedings were followed by commercial presentations. Geoff Crowhurst, Acoustics Division Director, IAC UK spoke on the latest developments in anechoic chamber design and construction, and in particular on IACs patented Metadyne metal wedge system.
Pascal Riche, Business Manager Power Solutions from IAC Boet Stopson France, presented on the topic of noise control solutions for power plants. He talked delegates through the technical intricacies of noise reducing intake systems, enclosures and exhaust systems for gas turbines; enclosures and engine silencers for diesel powered generators and special silencers for high pressure vent systems such as pressure relief valves. IACs manufacturing capability in Lille, Northern France, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of silencer technology.
Alvin Leung, President of IAC China, said: "The conference was a great success and our presentations were very well attended. There is an increasing requirement for noise control in China and a high level of interest in IACs expanding local capabilities. Our high performance power noise control products and acoustic test facilities are keeping us at the forefront of noise control technology in the region."
