Custom Hollow Sections | 13 Feb 2006 |
Large press-braking machinery is used to fold or form plate for a variety of markets, however of particular interest is the forming of custom made structural sections to the architects and engineers specific designs.
David Springthorpe, Managing Director of Angle Ring stated We have seen an increase in demand for structural sections produced to customers specific requirements over the past few years, it has certainly been an challenging period.
The Hollow sections shown were made to the customers specific sizes, being 550x550x25mm SHS some of which were later curved to suit the project required.
Recent work has also seen the production of Triangular sections used as the central column in a spiral staircase.
All welding and testing can be undertaken by Angle Ring as part of their comprehensive service.
Machinery at Angle Ring can press with 1200 tonnes enabling material up to 25mm thick to be pressed over the full 10 metre length. This is believed to be the strongest machine with a single blade length in the UK.
Once welded the sections can then be curved to a radius using Angle Rings extensive section bending capacity, giving a new look to any feature steelwork.
