Suspended Ceiling Rescued From Fire. |
When Beales department store in Bournemouth suffered a fire on the third floor it soon became obvious that it was more than the stock and shopfittings which were affected. The company took immediate action to replace damaged stock, fittings and flooring but realised that they had a potentially bigger problem involving the sales area suspended ceiling. Whilst the suspended ceiling was generally sound it had been badly affected by smoke and odour. The odour was also affecting the ceiling void, which spread into other areas such as stock rooms and fitting rooms.
Above All, the Nottingham based suspended ceiling restoration company, were called in to assess and advise the most appropriate course of action in order to get the area trading again in the shortest possible time. The option of replacing the suspended ceiling was going to take far too long and involve ceiling fixers as well as air conditioning engineers, fire detection engineers and electricians.
Above All were able to recommend and apply their Fissure-Tex Ultra acoustic coating to restore the discoloured suspended ceiling. The ceiling void was treated with deodourising solution and the concrete soffit sealed against future bleed through of soot and odours. Vent grilles, smoke detectors and light bezels were all cleaned.
Above All carried out their treatments within the existing programme of works to enable the store to re-open earlier than had been expected.
A spokesperson of the store expressed his thanks for Above Alls quick response and went on to say The reinstated area looks excellent and my store colleagues had nothing but praise for the way in which your team performed
