The new “Skylar” product from Fabric Architecture has been used to great effect in creating way markers and areas of shade along walkways to and from car parking.

The Skylar is quick and easy to erect, with 16 units located amongst the urban landscape. Galvanised steelwork was used to compliment the oxidised undulating steel walls that define routes through the car parks. Membrane plates and all connections are 316 stainless steel.

The refurbishment of Croydon IKEA is part of a wider programme of redevelopment by RG Group to stores throughout the UK, including Brent Cross, Bristol, Gateshead, and IKEA’s new store in Milton Keynes.

    Fabric choices are:
    1. PVC coated Polyester 2. Solar Glass Weave (a Silicone coated glass fibre cloth)
    3. PVC coated Polyester Mesh

    Steel finish options:
    1. Galvanised
    2. Polyester Powder Coat

Location: IKEA, Waddon Marsh Way, Croydon, Surrey UK
    Contractor: RG Group, UK
Structure: 4m Skylar Product, Fabric Architecture UK
