Dramatic tension in Education Village | 19 Apr 2006 |
The beauty of Fabric Architectures standard products is their ability to meet the needs of different locations. Entrance walkways and a radius link bridge demanded effective modular solutions. The Malvern vault was used in both locations: the curved walkway was attached to existing steelwork, whereas the two entrance walkways are freestanding structures .
The popular Pagoda unit and an elongated Double Conic offer areas of shelter and shade.
The Rocket Education Village is built on the site of Haughton Community School. Bringing together three local schools, the £37.3 million project will teach 1400 pupils from the age of three to nineteen. It will be the first facility in the country to embrace primary, secondary and Special Educational Needs teaching under the PFI procurement route.
