The Safety Letterbox Company Ltd is the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of mailing systems. From their fully comprehensive range they have supplied police stations, prisons, courts and government buildings as well as the core of their business, the construction industry.
Their local prison in Swansea, had a requirement for the safe provision of medical supplies for prisoners. 400 lockable boxes were manufactured in pairs and singles for surface mounting inside each cell to contain individuals medication. All boxes had their own keys controlled by master keys. This provided them with safe storage and ease of allocation of medication.

Police stations are often supplied with mailboxes for external use and courts and government buildings are supplied with larger chuted boxes, enabling the safe delivery and receipt of mail through the wall. These are often fitted with fire extinguishers to reduce any risks through potential arson attempts.Fire rated models are also available.
