Allen & Overy Clever Flooring from Milliken Carpets | 16 Mar 2007 |
When international law firm Allen & Overy moved to new offices in London's Bishops Square, the company knew they would have to be clever on their choice of flooring, to work with the 40,000 m floor plate.
Allen and Overy worked very closely with Pringle Brandon Architects and Vivien Lee, Milliken's in-house designer, to create a design which would meet the needs of a large global law firm. Milliken's Rush design, with customised details was used to create a 24 tile pattern repeat, providing an aesthetically interesting flooring solution for such a large space.
Manufactured on Milliken's High Performance Loop Pile Modular Carpet the design lends itself perfectly to Milliken's digital colour placement technology. Its unique dye injection process brings colour to the fibre after the carpet has been produced, enabling Milliken to create highly accurate patterns with enhanced design flexibility, and superior delivery service.
A further benefit of Milliken's High Performance Loop Pile product is that of ComfortPlus²®, its unique cushion backing system. Manufactured from 85% recycled open cell polyurethane, the lightweight backing provides luxurious underfoot comfort offering employees reduced leg muscle fatigue and absorbs 36dB of sound, considerably reducing the disruption of reverberative noise - ideal for any office space.
Throughout the building Pringle Brandon has used different materials and graphics in order to make the best possible use of its design. This is clearly evident in their decision to use designs from Milliken's Premium Cut Pile Fusion Bonded range in their client meeting rooms and break out areas, resulting in an overall space which is efficient and elegant.
Denis Allen of Allen & Overy said 'I particularly like the design flexibility which Milliken can offer and the sharpness of their designs. Capturing the essence of Allen & Overy whilst offering an aesthetically pleasing flooring solution'
