DEVI adds a twist of modern luxury to historic hotel | 17 May 2007 |
One of Newcastle's finest historic residential buildings, Jesmond Dene House, is a hotel offering contemporary style and a modern sense of comfort, not least in the bathrooms. Each is generously designed with a crisp, clean feel - some have walk-in showers while others have big baths with garden views, unsurprisingly, all have electric underfloor heating and heated mirrors by DEVI.
Jesmond Dene House offers 40 well-designed bedrooms and the DEVI products supplied by Ceramic Tile Distributors ensure an extra touch of understated luxury in each of the bathrooms. Devimat electric heating mats have been laid beneath the ceramic tile floors while DEVI electric mirror heating mats are installed in the tile adhesive behind the mirrors thus ensuring both underfoot warmth and mist free mirrors.
Even with adequate ventilation, the combination of high humidity and heat invariably results in misted mirrors. DEVI heating mats prevent this situation by warming the mirror to eliminate the effects of the temperature difference. Consuming no more energy than a 60W light bulb, the mats can be wired to switch on with the bathroom lighting.
The devimat system ensures quick and simple installation; the cables are pre-attached onto a self adhesive mesh which is rolled out onto the floor. At Jesmond Dene House, the mats are laid onto a timber floating floor. Ceramic Tile Distributors worked in partnership with DEVI, which designed the system required for the project.
Mike Dent, Group Sales Director for Ceramic Tile Distributors, the largest ceramic tile distributor in the UK, comments: "DEVI provides us with huge added value because we're able to offer our customers not only ceramic tiles but a fantastic complementary range of heating products it is the classic partnership. Underfloor heating is becoming increasingly popular and we've see a large percentage growth in the sale of the products year-on-year during the five years we've been dealing with DEVI."
