Offering complete control of a home's underfloor heating system remotely via a website, Web Home is a new and easy to install, internet-based system from DEVI. It allows the homeowner to operate his heating and other systems while at work or on holiday, thereby achieving the benefits of both heating comfort and economy.
Web Home consists of a GSM-based modem within the home which is connected to network-linked devireg 550 thermostats. In this way, it provides full distant control and monitoring of the home's heating system and enables future actions to be programmed while any heating breakdown, for example in the case of power failure, can be notified by a warning SMS.
The Web Home technology is particularly suited to holiday homes where an owner may wish to set the heating system prior to a visit. The system also offers the advantage that it is possible to connect other devices such as electric radiators, a water heater or a burglar alarm; this allows the home owner to be informed about intruders via a mobile phone.
Installation normally takes less than half an hour and the engineer can test and control whether the system works while on site. Software is easily upgraded if required at a later date. Web Home is sold together with a subscription to DEVI's Web Home service which, among other things, covers all communication costs between the Web Home modem and the central Web Home server. To prevent unauthorised access to the system, all communication employs 128 bit encryption.
