Danfoss' heating division forms new task force |
European legislation is becoming an increasingly important driver for the market development of the portfolio of Danfoss' businesses, which includes DEVI UK, specialist in electric underfloor heating. As a result, the Danfoss heating division has established an organisational unit to focus on systematic dialogue with legislators and institutions within the field of indoor comfort and heating.
Heinz Alker has been appointed as leader of the new organisational unit and will leave his position as leader of the Danfoss comfort control (CD) sales organisation in Central Europe to fully focus on his new task. Heinz has been with Danfoss since 1971 and, with his in-depth knowledge of heating products and his wealth of experience within sales, he is the ideal leader of heating's new task force.
Steve McCall, DEVI UK's MD, comments "We are encouraged by this increased focus on Danfoss' range of products as a whole entity. It enables the group in the UK, which deals with electric underfloor heating and heat source pumps, to be closer to discussions in Brussels and so be more aware of the European market."
"We want to increase our ability to influence and learn from the views of decision-makers who define our businesses, markets and product" says president of the Danfoss heating division, Nis Storgaard.
The new organisational unit will work under the title "Governmental & Institutional Entrepreneurship (GIE)" within the heating administration's business development department. "GIE is not only about influencing political decisions but also about bringing new lessons back to our own organisation. The heating division's ambition is to be a leading competence centre in heating and comfort systems and solutions and, to achieve this, we realise that we must participate more actively in debates and discussions at the most detailed technical level within our field," says Mads Pinnerup, Vice President of heating administration.
The GIE task force will also include Lars Dyrhagen who has extensive experience within the political system on national as well as EU and UN levels.
