Selectaglaze Announces Secondary Glazing Acoustic Insulation Research Findings | 5 Oct 2007 |
Royal Warrant holder, Selectaglaze, the UKs leading designer of secondary glazing has commissioned an independent and comprehensive set of acoustic tests which, together with an exercise in extrapolation and interpolation undertaken by Hann Tucker Associates (Consultants in Acoustics), provide specialists with reliable Rw values for their full product range.
Secondary glazing has long been acknowledged as the most effective method of providing acoustic insulation at window openings. However, the degree to which noise can be controlled is dependent on many factors such as cavity, choice of glass, style and specification of secondary unit, which, until now, has made the accurate assessment of the requirements for any given situation a difficult task.
The results of Selectaglazes research, which was conducted at The Taylor Woodrow Technology Centre in accordance with BSEN ISO 140-3: 1995, have now been published and a summary of this information is featured within their latest data sheet, entitled High Performance Noise Insulation, available free, upon request by completing the form below.
