Electric Floor & Ceiling Heating
We offer a choice of low temperature radiant ceiling heating panels
and underfloor heating cables that can be used independently or together
to provide a clean, comfortable, safe, silent and maintenance free
heating system. The system offers comfortable, gentle all round
heat, obstruction-free room layouts and economical running and
economical running and installation costs.
The company has over 40 years
experience in the design and installation of low temperature radiant
heating systems in all types of buildings in the UK. The systems
have been installed and are in use world wide in all types of building
and in all climates. Of particular benefit in residential
dwellings, the ESWA systems have been installed in offices, health
centres, clinics, mental health units and residential nursing homes. Description
The ESWA systems provide an even, comfortable warmth throughout the
room with no hot spots or cold areas. Working through large
surface areas, the heating elements use a relatively low level of power
and operate at only a few degrees above ambient temperature. This
ensures that the rooms air remains fresh and condensation free, with no
feeling of dryness. If installed as an "Up and Under"
floor and ceiling heating system the bulk of the heat requirement can be
taken during the off peak hours. With the modern standards of
building insulation ceiling heating or floor heating only systems
provide an economical solution for heating most buildings especially
when combined with timed control systems. Composition
Ceiling heating elements are in sheet form and comprise an
electrically conductive foil laminated between 2 layers of protective
plastic. They are hermetically sealed, moisture proof and
insulated against electrical leakage. In the event of physical
damage to ceiling heating elements they are designed to safely fuse
within the plastic insulation. Ceiling heating foils are fitted above
the ceiling board, fixed between the joists or the MF grid.
Control is usually via individual room thermostats to maintain an even
room temperature, it can be further enhanced by using setback systems in
conjunction with manual override switches or time clocks and zone
controls. Underfloor heating is
normally provided by electrical cables embedded in a floor screed of
different thicknessess depending on whether it is to be used as storage
or direct acting heating. |
|
The cables are fully insulated by a
non-hygroscopic and temperature resistant material and covered by an
external sheath pf PVC, cables for 'wet areas' have a full metal sheath
and a separate earth wire to enable connection
to the equipotential bonding. Cables are laid in parallel runs on
the entire floor below the screed and the floor finish. Floor
heating is compatible with most floor finishes, timber, tiles stone,
carpet etc. Control is either by a weather sensing storage heating
controller or by individual room thermostats.
