Ultraviolet transmission (UV) is the ratio of solar energy (in the range of 300 - 380 nm) that passes through a glazing system to the total energy falling on it. Ultraviolet is one portion of the total energy spectrum and greatly contributes to the fading and deterioration of fabrics and furnishings.
