Contour Casings

CDT & MCCDT Flush Floor Ducting

Contour Casings offers a complete range of galvanised steel flush floor ducting for laying pipework in screeded floors.

Available with lids and a full range of accessories, the ducting is suitable for use in all types of projects in both new build and refurbishment schemes, at attractive prices.

Contour CDT Floor Ducting has been designed specifically to comply with Byelaw 58-(I) of the Water Act. The galvanised steel tray is fitted to the sub-floor prior to screedlng and eliminates the need for expensive and time consuming shuttering. The plywood coverboard fits flush with the floor screed and can be simply removed to allow for rapid and effective access to pipes.

In addition to the standard sizes shown below, we can also make any special size, without minimum quantities. Please contact us for more information.

Description
Contour Casings CDT floor ducting profiles are preformed tray sections from hot dipped galvanised steel and designed for fixing to the surface of the sub floor before screeding.

Return flanges give recessed support to pre-cut covers in 12mm plywood, laid flush with the rest of the finished floor.

Pre-fabricated corner sections, T junctions and stop ends complete a quick and economic installation.

Contour has a wide range of standard profiles as well as the facility to produce any special sizes in small production runs.

Complying fully with the latest water bye-laws and
BRE recommendations, Contour CDT floor ducting is a neat and complete solution to under floor installation and maintenance.

Sizes
All CDT floor ducting profiles are 2500mm long. The range consists of 3 standard widths, 100mm, 150mm and 200mm. All widths are available to suit two screed depths, 50mm and 75mm.

Corner /Tee units are supplied in a perforated 800mm length to be separated on site, forming left and right hand sections. Placed together they form either a 90° angle or a variable tee.

Service
Standard CDT profiles are typically available ex-stock. Please contact us for current lead times and prices on alternative finishes or sizes.

Technical Performance
Contour CDT floor ducting profiles consist of 2 separate elements:

Tray Section - formed from 22 gauge hot dipped galvanised mild steel to BS 2989.

Coverboard - 12mm plywood to BS 1203:1979.

Thermal Insulation
Insulation of pipework can be achieved by the use of propriety slit tube pipe sleeves, or by filling the tray with loose insulation.

Sound Insulation
Care must be taken when a pipe passes through a sound resistant floor to seal any gaps and limit the amount of noise conveyed along the pipe.

Fire
Where ducts run from one building compartment to another, it is necessary to provide a barrier that will, in the event of fire, isolate separate building compartments. It is recommended that intumescent safety barriers be used which expand and seal ducts when high temperatures are encountered, our technical department can advise.
