Cavity Spacer Systems
SureCav Ltd supplies BBA-approved spacer systems that enable the construction of clean, moisture-free cavity walls. The systems comprise black, extruded, vacuum-formed, HDPE sheets, which have raised spacer protrusions at 260mm centres. They have been developed to take the place of backing blocks and timber shutters when building stone walls, allowing for gains of 5% extra internal floor space, and reducing the width of foundations by 100mm. The spacer sheets have H-section plastic strips at their edges and corners that interlock when installed. They protect the building’s integrity, forming an impervious skin that stops water penetration from wind-driven rain.
SureCav spacers are made from environmentally friendly, 100% recycled HDPE. They are durable and designed to remain effective for the life of the building. They are also easy to transport, being 80 times lighter than 100mm concrete backing blocks.
Panels: length 1200mm; width 450mm; total thickness 50mm; sheet thickness 2mm; spacer height 48mm.
SureCav spacer systems are approved by the British Board of Agrément (BBA): certificate number 04/4154.
SureCav spacer systems have a patented design (GB patent number 2-388-614) that ensures a constant cavity is maintained when building with natural or reconstituted stone. They remove the need for timber shuttering and backing blocks, which results in a faster, cleaner, higher quality build with reduced labour and material costs.
